The Fitzgerald sisters are back in the third installment of the wonderfully horrific Canadian werewolf series, and this time they've travelled back in time, manifest in one of their previous incarnations. Orphans traveling across the Canadian wilderness by horseback during the 19th Century, the girls encounter a crumbling Indian campsite where the one remaining inhabitant issues a strange prophetic warning, the first of many mysterious encounters to come. When the sisters take refuge at a trading fort populated only by men, they soon learn of the monstrous beasts in the outlying land that menace the men both physically and mentally, as many seem to be moving towards madness and all seem to have something to hide. When Ginger is bitten by a little boy and starts slowly changing, the sisters realize they must work to solve the prophecy before its too late.This film, providing a backstory for characters introduced in the first two films of the series, offers stunning cinematography by Michael Marshall, known for his work with gifted Canadian director Guy Maddin, and superb performances by all the actors, including many respected indie stars. This set contains two classic horror films from producer Val Lewton.Released shortly after the film CAT PEOPLE, I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE marked another successful collaboration between producer Val Lewton and director Jacques Tourneur. Filled with eerie atmosphere and chilling sets, the film follows a young Canadian nurse named Betsy (Frances Dee) as she travels to a Caribbean Island to treat a plantation manager's sick wife. The nurse finds the island to be inhabited by strange creatures and all kinds of eerie voodoo legends. As she develops feelings for her boss, Betsy makes it her goal to heal his wife Jessica even if it requires resorting to voodoo.In THE BODY SNATCHER, Robert Wise's creepy, intricate horror film, a 19th-century Edinburgh doctor and medical school professor, Dr. MacFarlane (Henry Daniell), has been relying upon unappeasable grave robber John Grey (Boris Karloff) to provide him with corpses for his experiments. His young assistant, Donald Fettes (Russell Wade), is shocked when he learns how they come to be in possession of their cadavers, but his admiration for MacFarlane leads him to keep the doctor's illegal dealings a secret. However, when their supply of fresh cadavers begins to dwindle, Grey taunts the doctor with a secret even greater than their body snatching. Meanwhile, Fettes must keep up his hardworking, moral front for Mrs. Marsh (Rita Corday), whose crippled little girl, Georgina (Sharyn Moffett), he's treating. Based on the famous Robert Louis Stevenson story, THE BODY SNATCHER incorporates a subplot based on the actual account of 19th-century Edinbugh murderers Burke and Hare. This chilling, atmospheric film features what is arguably one of Karloff's greatest performances as the menacing, murderous Grey. It also features a fantastic scene between Karloff and the legendary Bela Lugosi (as MacFarlane's servant Joseph), the only one the two ever filmed together.

TWO GIRLS FOR A MADMAN is a gem in the oeuvre of the quirky skinflick maestro Barry Mahon; it follows two young, attractive, and temperamentally opposite ballet students who are nonetheless good friends. Sonya is a good girl who takes her studies seriously, while Toni is a wild swinger with dreams of acting; she attends raucous orgies which, of course, are shown here in graphic detail. When psychotic Frank Yeager encounters Toni at an orgy, he blatantly flouts his psychiatrist's advice and follows her, eventually attacking her in a rough sexual encounter. Later, however, she recommends him to Sonya, describing him as all man, and the madman eventually shows up at the girls' school looking for a follow-up to the first act! Quite explicit softcore, especially for a film from the 60s, TWO GIRLS sports an impressive orgy scene and an extremely sensual, luxurious shower scene.A millionaire represents the last hope of a host of sexy young things in trouble in MR. MARI'S GIRLS, and he is willing to come to their aid, for a price. Stella is a beautiful model hooked on heroin who will do anything for her next fix, including dance nude for Mr. Mari. Dirk is a tough lesbian desperately in love with her blind girlfriend Barbara, while poor Diane is a young high school girl who has gotten knocked up by her English teacher. All these lost souls congregate at Mr. Mari's place, and compete with one another for his help, resulting in one of the most spectacular catfights in sexploitation history!Helen Doe is a dutiful niece on her way to visit her aunt, blissfully unaware that a hooded strangler is lurking about; she is waylaid and brought to The House of Horror on the Hill. There, she and six other TORTURED FEMALES are forced to perform according to their captors' will, coerced into submission through various forms of more or less shocking, titillating torture. This is an incredibly eccentric, exuberant roughie.
