After arriving in Haiti to meet her fiance, a blushing bride-to-be is quickly transformed into a pallid, soulless body by creepy voodoo master Lugosi, at the behest of a jealous rival who desires her. Made for $50,000 in 11 days in 1932, this interesting horror film relies more on visuals and atmosphere than dialogue. When an experiment goes horribly awry, a herd of giant killer rabbits are sent galloping across the globe in this gross-out horror movie from 1972. The technical details of the plot, which involve a hormone designed to quash the rampant sexual proclivities of rabbits, are wisely dispensed with early on in order to allow the rampant bunnies enough screen time to rip into their human persecutors. As the giant beasts throw off the cute, loveable mantle they`ve worn for so long, a cast including Janet Leigh (PSYCHO) and DeForest Kelley (Leonard
Bones
McCoy from STAR TREK) attempts to fend them off. The primitive special effects and hammy performances have turned NIGHT OF THE LEPUS into a cult classic over the years, with viewers finding themselves tickled by the actors in bunny-suits who woefully try to replicate an exaggerated version of the real thing. After the wonderfully silly film wrapped, director William F. Claxton`s career took a surprising turn, as he helmed episodes of popular TV shows such as FAME and LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE.

The Grudge (WS/DVD) The Grudge (WS/DVD) » The Grudge (WS/DVD)

A remake of the Japanese horror hit JU-ON (widely considered to be one of the scariest movies ever made), THE GRUDGE is helmed by its original director Takeshi Shimizu. Like its predecessor, this Hollywood version of the film takes place in Tokyo, but most of the main characters are American, including Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), a young social worker, and her peers. When Karen enters a seemingly abandoned home to look after a mentally disturbed resident, she soon discovers that there's an evil--and very aggressive--presence in the house, and it's lashing out at every person that sets foot inside.Having directed both the original JU-ON and its sequel in Japan, Shimizu was very familiar with his own tale of terror by the time he directed its 2004 incarnation. Using many of the key actors from the previous films (including Takako Fuji and Yuya Ozeki who have unforgettable roles), Shimizu recreates the story with the added advantage of a Hollywood budget (acquired with the help of producer Sam Raimi of SPIDER-MAN fame, who is also a noted horror-movie director). As with many Japanese horror films (particularly the original RING, which strongly influences this movie), THE GRUDGE relies on atmosphere over plot, resulting a series of utterly chilling moments that will leave viewers fascinated and unbelievely frightened.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseAnamorphic Widescreen - 1.85Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English, French-Canadian Subtitles - French-Parisian, Spanish - OptionalAdditional Release Material: Documentary - 1.A Powerful Rage: Behind the Grudge Audio Commentary - 1.
